UPDATED 12:30 p.m.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Following the not guilty verdict in the murder trial of former police officer Jason Stockley, activists and protesters gathered at courthouse with chants of “No Justice, No Peace”.

“I’m just praying for my city,” says Michael Brown Sr., father of Michael Brown, the man whose death sparked the Ferguson protests.

“They’re killing us like roaches and dogs,” says Brother Anthony Shahid.

Some protesters formed a line, spilling into the street at Market and Tucker downtown.

Jason Stockley protesters made their way down Olive Street, reaching the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department headquarters.

One man was taken into custody at Washington and 14th after damaging a police vehicle, police report. He has been charged with destruction of property and failure to obey.

The crowd gathered at Washington and Tucker before breaking into two, some heading east on Washington Avenue, others on Tucker towards the downtown courthouses.

The crowd approached the America’s Center, where a national nurses convention is being held.

Protesters continue to march throughout the streets of downtown St. Louis.
