New Report Reveals Trends in School Punishments

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The ACLU of Missouri is set to release a statewide school discipline report today.

Spokeswoman Daniela Velazquez gives us a preview of the findings.

“Black students are punished harsher and more frequently. We found that students with certain physical, behavioral disabilities are also disciplined more frequently and more harshly than their peers who are not disabled,” she says.

The title of the report is “From School to Prison: Missouri’s Pipeline of Injustice.”
