ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – When you think of the homeless, you might think of downtown St. Louis. But the Wentzville Lions Club says there are some 150 homeless in the Wentzville area, too. Organizer Lisa Alexander says they’re planning to serve them a Thanksgiving dinner Thursday.

“In the day time, most of the time they congregate. There’s like three hotels… and what we do is, either the Lions Club or some other organization will pay for them to stay in the hotel,” she says.

Alexander says other homeless can be seen sleeping outside here and there, or trying to stay warm in the all-night laundromat. The dinner takes place at the Green Lantern Center, 506 Linn Avenue on Thanksgiving Day from 11:00-to-3:00. Anyone who would like to donate a turkey is asked to call Lisa Alexander at 314-258-1069.
