ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Hugs, sociology, and the Girl Scouts.

The Girls Scouts of the USA has issued an unusual holiday warning telling parents not to force daughters to give relatives hugs and kisses.

It’s not that the scouts think Uncle Bob might be a pedophile, but as the group explains on its official site, telling a child she owes someone a hug could set the stage for questioning whether she owes physical affection to others who buy her dinner or drinks.

The initiative comes amid a frenzy of sexual harassment claims against entertainers, politicians, and others.
