ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Under the court order to pick up her pen and sign off on a funding package for the Scottrade Center, City Comptroller Darlene Green appears to be taking her time to think about it. Green has given no signal of her intentions, except to say she’ll talk with her lawyers. Meanwhile, City Counselor Mike Garvin says signing the $64 million bond package would be the right thing to do.

“It really benefits the Blues and the Kiel partners, but it also benefits the city because the people we do business with have have to know that when we approve a deal, we go through with that deal and that one person won’t just arbitrarily hold it up,” he says.

Green has said she fears the deal could jeopardize the city’s credit rating. A judge on Monday gave her five days to sign the plan.
