ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) – An overnight shooting at a bar in North St. Louis County leaves a man and a woman in critical condition.

It happened just before midnight at Club Cuetopia in Florissant.

St. Louis County police say a 23-year-old woman was physically assaulted inside the club. A 23-year-old man then confronted the individual who assaulted her, but the suspect then shot him.

Police say the woman ran outside the bar holding a gun and was confronted by an off-duty police officer, in full uniform, working secondary at the bar. After the woman waved her gun at the officer, police say the officer then shot the woman.

The officer involved is a part-time police officer for the Moline Acres Police Department, with more than 20 years of law enforcement experience.

Both victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The male suspect who assaulted the woman and shot the man has still not been identified.
