ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Missouri begins this week with a call from a state school board member for local districts to protest Friday’s firing of the state’s education commissioner.
The call came form the St. Louis member of the board of education. Mike Jones was one of just three members that day to vote against the governors campaign to fire the state’s education leader.
“Everybody here in education throughout this state will have to make a judgement about what they do tomorrow,” he says.
Jones went on to call on local school boards to speak out to speak in opposition to the firing of a former school teacher. The governor and one of his board appointees have argued against education bureaucracy.
