ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOX) – The Arnold Police Officer who was shot in the head is out of surgery and in sable condition at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. He was in surgery for multiple hours Tuesday afternoon after being shot by a suspect inside his vehicle at the Arnold Police Station.

Officer Ryan O’Conner, 44, was transporting 29-year-old burglary suspect Chad Klahs in the back of his SUV police vehicle. Police confiscated one gun from Klahs at the time of his arrest and had him handcuffed, but he apparently had another gun in his possession which he used to shoot O’Conner in the back of the head.
