ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – MoDOT releases a public service announcement to address the high number of fatal crashes along a four mile stretch of Natural Bridge Avenue in St. Louis City.

The thirty second version starts with the voice of St. Louis representative Josh Peters.

“Too many lives have been lost or changed by roadway crashes on Natural bridge,” he says.

Since 2012, MoDOT says there have 18 fatal crashes including 13 involving pedestrians leaving 20 dead on Natural Bridge Avenue between Salisbury/Parnell and the city limits. The PSAs call on motorists to drive the speed limit and pedestrians to use cross walks.

The first of several focus groups is being held tonight to get input from the community.
