ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The ACLU is in court this morning to challenge the election process used by the Ferguson-Florissant School District.

A federal court ruled in favor of the ACLU last year, finding that the Ferguson-Florissant School District’s method of elections denies African-Americans an equal opportunity. That’s a violation of the Voting Rights Act.

The district appealed and the case will be heard Wednesday morning in downtown St. Louis.

The ACLU originally filed the case on behalf of the Missouri NAACP and African-American residents in the district.
