ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – You won’t have to travel to a galaxy far, far away to catch the latest chapter of the “Star Wars” saga. In fact, it will be hard to miss.

Many theaters, including those locally, are showing “The Last Jedi” pretty much around the clock, the better to deal with its 2-and-a-half hour running time.

That lengthy running time has been the focus of some critics, but local fans says the more Star Wars, the better.

“Honestly, nostalgia has a lot of value, and it doesn’t really matter if it sucks because I’m still going to be like, ‘Yay, it’s Star Wars,'” said one moviegoer at Thursday night’s opening.

It’s now been 40 years since the first Star Wars film came out, and the franchise seems to be running stronger than ever.

The eighth official chapter of Star Wars is poised to make upwards of $200 million this opening weekend.
