After Missouri’s victory in Columbia last night, head coach Cuonzo Martin did something that he says he’s never done before. He spoke to the opposing team in their locker room.

The Tigers just barely held on to a 82-81 victory over the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.

Watch his speech here:

He complimented the Lumberjacks especially on their defense, which averages the most steals per game in the country. Martin wrapped up the speech saying he was going to talk to SFA head coach Kyle Keller about how he gets his team to play such tough defense.

“You don’t owe me nothing,” Martin says to the Lumberjacks. “But I just want to tell you, and I know you’re upset now, but you’ve got a hell of a team. And I’m going to say it again, I’ve never done this in my career. Thank you guys, appreciate it coach.”
