ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Some of us may want to make being more creative a New Year’s resolution.

2017 has been a year of cyber security disasters, from ransomeware attacks to major data breaches effecting millions of people, and yet many Americans still use weak passwords to protect their accounts and devices. Splash Data is out with its list of the worst passwords in 2017, and once again, ‘123456’ and the word ‘password’ lead the way. Number three is ‘12345678’.

Others that made the top ten, the word ‘football’, ‘iloveyou’ and new to this year’s top 25 at number 16, ‘starwars’.
