This is a Big City story older then the Marines themselves. Frequently described as a “Paddy Hustle” quickly deteriorating into a strong-armed robbery the perpetrators are on the look-out for victims in partial civilian dress; i.e., wearing kaki pants, polished shoes, etc. They know who the victims are when they confront them to take their property. It’s astounding to me that this Marine spokeswoman Capt Kate Vanden Bossche is so naive and remains in a command position. But then again, its been a long time since I was in the military.
