Outdoor Workers Feel the Heat
7/11/11-This might make you feel better about riding out this heat wave in your air-conditioned office. KMOX News found this work crew laying down fresh, hot asphalt at the corner of Arsenal & Alfred just south of Tower Grove Park Monday morning. While they had the benefit of some shade, the blacktop material they were working with was more than enough to make them feel the heat. A worker held up a portable thermometer next to the fresh blacktop, showing that it was coming out of the spreader at a sizzling 374-degres F. (KMOX/Brett Blume)
