10/25/11-Officials with the Metropolitan Sewer District of St. Louis and the Metro Water Infrastructure Partnership (MWIP) took reporters and others on a tour of sewer pipes deep below Forest Park Tuesday to highlight a new MWIP report that says the region's water and wastewater systems are "close to the end of their life expectancy". MSD says utility rates have not kept pace with the growing need for infrastructure replacement, creating a $6 billion dollar shortfall that they say will need to be addressed soon. (KMOX/Brett Blume)
