Like so many other things these days, the announcement came via Twitter -- the Cardinals let the world know that work on Ballpark Village had begun in earnest.

The tweet read "Structural steelwork has begun on Ballpark Village -- let the countdown to Opening Day 2014 begin!".

The $100 million first phase of Ballpark Village just north of Busch Stadium will include a restaurant, a rooftop seating deck for watching the game, and the first-ever Cardinals Hall of Fame. (KMOX Brett Blume) Ballpark Village Starting To...

Holiday lights are turned on in St. Louis
11/18/11-About a half-dozen wild turkeys seemed to tempt fate Friday by running through the parking lot of a Schnucks store at the Buzz Westfall shopping plaza at W. Florissant and Lucas-Hunt in north St. Louis County. The unusual sight had one shopper who had just stepped out of Schnucks wondering "Why did I just pay $28 dollars for a turkey? I could have gotten one for free right here on the parking lot!" But she would have had to catch them first -- the turkeys were sprightly and quick to move if anyone who looked like they had a pre-Thanksgiving motive got too close. It turns out the turkeys live across the street on the property of Emerson Electric and come over on a regular basis to browse the shopping center. (KMOX/Brett Blume)

(KMOX/Brett Blume)

that is nothing… we have two dozen frequently walk around the house while the dog freaks out on the inside… smelling them thru the walls and hearing them gobble! http://www.flickr.com/photos/cessnet/5995814101/in/set-72157622725185978/
