Wild Turkeys at North County Shopping Plaza
11/18/11-About a half-dozen wild turkeys seemed to tempt fate Friday by running through the parking lot of a Schnucks store at the Buzz Westfall shopping plaza at W. Florissant and Lucas-Hunt in north St. Louis County. The unusual sight had one shopper who had just stepped out of Schnucks wondering “Why did I just pay $28 dollars for a turkey? I could have gotten one for free right here on the parking lot!” But she would have had to catch them first — the turkeys were sprightly and quick to move if anyone who looked like they had a pre-Thanksgiving motive got too close. It turns out the turkeys live across the street on the property of Emerson Electric and come over on a regular basis to browse the shopping center. (KMOX/Brett Blume)
