New Gateway Motorsports Park Shows Its Muscle
Milestone musclecars past and present were on display in all their chrome-laden glory Tuesday at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill. (the former Gateway International Raceway). The occasion was the 18th Annual Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour, featuring thousands of automobiles waxed and buffed to within an inch of their lives. Participants are making a 7-day, 1,600-mile trek across America, with an added feature starting west of St. Louis as drivers hit the iconic and historic Rte. 66. As for Gateway, a great way to kick off their comeback after retired racer and real estate developer Curtis Francois took over the track and is putting together events for a 2012 racing season.
