Mt. Pleasant harvest
The earliest grape harvest in memory is underway this week at Mt. Pleasant Estates winery in Augusta, Mo. Despite appearing to be about half the size of the grapes you see in stores, winery president Chuck Dressel tells KMOX News says that simply means less water in those grapes — water that saps grapes of their natural flavor. The 2012 harvest, which goes on sale next spring, should be “flavorable and fabulous” according to Dressel. (Photos by Brett Blume and Cassidy Cleveland)
