Car Pulled From Mo. River
12/26/12-It took quite an effort to pull what appears to be a derelict vehicle from the Missouri River in north St. Louis County Wednesday. A diver from the St. Louis city fire department had to spend about 10 minutes submerged in the freezing water to attach a tow cable to the car, which was spotted earlier in the day. It was finally pulled to shore, the doors were opened, and…nothing inside but water and mud. Officials believe joyriders likely stole the car at some point and ditched it into the river at Sioux Passage park, adding that the stereo had been ripped from the dash of the older-model Chevrolet Malibu.
