After the surprise news on Monday that 2011 third-round pick Austin Pettis had been cut, the Rams made several moves on Tuesday to fill the new open roster spot.
On Tuesday morning, the club promoted linebacker Marshall McFadden from the practice squad to the regular 53-man roster.

The St. Louis Rams led 21-0 midway through the second quarter on Sunday, but were unable to hold onto that lead, as the Dallas Cowboys scored 20 straight points to get back into the game, then outscored the home club 14-10 in the fourth quarter to earn themselves a 34-31 win at the Edward Jones Dome.
One series into Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked a whole lot like last week’s Week 1 contest against the Minnesota Vikings — the St. Louis Rams were getting pushed around the field and seemed unable to do anything about it.
