The city of Hannibal has lifted an order to boil local drinking water after a suspected lightning strike at a municipal water treatment plant.
Due to a boil order that is in effect for several north County communities, all classes in the Normandy School District will be cancelled today.

21 homes along Jamieson Avenue remain without water. Water is expected to be restored to those homes by 8 p.m.
It still needs to be boiled, but at least all Glen Carbon residents now have running water again.
A lack of water has prompted the Gateway Legacy Christian Academy to cancel classes today.
