Despite seeing tens of thousands more visitors, Forest Park saw less crime this summer.
A Lincoln County teenager has been arrested for a series of car break-ins that occurred in subdivisions and commuter parking lots.
The 19-year-old was caught by police Tuesday after allegedly stealing from cars in East Alton.
Most victims had small amounts of money, loose change and personal items removed.
The man who broke into several cars in the Ameristar Casino parking garage in St. Charles earlier this week remains at large.
St. Louis Police are increasing the patrol in Forest park to have a better handle on thieves and any other possible crimes.
Police say that between 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, thieves broke the front windows of 18 vehicles.
Initial reports say the two were spotted breaking into a car on Delor Street at about 4 a.m. Thursday.
Just glancing at this month’s police blotters show car break-ins in Affton, Ballwin, Kirkwood, Manchester, Town and Country, Wildwood, and even St. Charles.
The break-ins happened Friday night as several Girl Scout troops were at the zoo for a campout.
