“This isn’t a 30,000 dollar cost overrun, this isn’t even a 1-million dollar cost overrun, this is 30-million dollars!” South County Councilman Steve Stenger said.
A year ago, St. Louis County voters approved a 100-million dollar project to build a new family courthouse next to the main courthouse.
County Executive Charlie Dooley says the money is coming in from the sales tax increase, Prop A, passed a few years ago.
Dooley says there are limiting factors, like cost, worsened by sequestration’s effect on federal funding.

Monsanto Co. plans a $400 million expansion at its suburban St. Louis research center that could add 675 jobs over the next three years.
In August, the Dooley Administration promised a shelter by the end of the year. That never materialized.
All St. Louis County municipal courts were also closed for the evening.
KMOX asked St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, if this fails, and no one uses it or the company bails, is the county going to lose money?
