Investigators Search for Cause of Building Collapse

The building commissioner is defending the integrity of the city’s old brick buildings, despite the partial collapse of a five-story building on Laclede’s Landing this week.

The collapse involved all five floors of the southern wall and part of a MetroLink station, which has been shut down, the chief says, for fear that the vibrations from the train could cause more collapse and damage.
