The FBI says they have tracked down a child sex predator known only as “John Doe 27″. He is somewhere in the Midwest.
FBI St. Louis spokeswoman Rebecca Wu says while investigators don’t know if the video is recent or old, it doesn’t really matter.
Michael Engler, 50, was arrested after an undercover sting by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, St. Louis County Police, Secret Service, and other law enforcement agencies.
“Once the agents have a real interest and time expended in a case, it’s tough to just walk away. They’re terriers. It’s tough. They’re going to grab a hold of your pants and not let go.”
“This is a dirty game, but it’s the only way they know how to play it. They go after those who are disloyal or threaten the status quo.”
“We’ve asked our FBI friends to give us a threat assessment and they say there are no credible threats toward St. Louis,” St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson says.
Calling the threats “frightening,” the FBI said Tuesday they were not a harmless prank even though no one was harmed.
