Ferguson-Florissant School District
Ferguson-Florissant School District has announced that all schools in the district will be closed on Monday, August 18 “due to continuing unrest in some areas of Ferguson, and in the interest of the safety of students and families.
Thursday was supposed to be the first day of school for students in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, but late Wednesday afternoon, the decision was made to cancel school Thursday and Friday.
Ferguson-Florissant’s superintendent may have resigned, but that’s not stopping his supporters from defending him at the ballot box.
Effective immediately, Dr. Art McCoy has resigned as superintendent of the Ferguson-Florissant School District.
The superintendent of a St. Louis County school district has been placed on indefinite administrative leave.

Dr. Art McCoy, Superintendent of the Ferguson-Florissant School District, says the district had 99 percent attendance on the first day.
The fight happened Friday and also involved four teenagers who were not students in the district. Two of the West students allowed them in.
