Congressmen Push Bill to Prohibit Confederate Flag at VA Cemeteries

Missouri Congressman Lacy Clay (D) and Congressman Ruben Gallego (D) Texas, introduced a bill Thursday to prohibit the Confederate Battle Flag at cemeteries operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs, including Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.

The statue honoring the confederate states in St. Louis' Forest Park may be moved or may be clarified. A committee is expected to decide if the statue should be moved to a different location or if the inscription should display more clear and historical information.
