A hundred miles of expanded or upgraded bicycle routes are planned for St. Louis. It’s an expansion of the partnership between the City and Great Rivers Greenway.
The meeting was for informational purposes but it was clear most citizens there already knew about the project and its plan to cut through a city park.
The four-lane, divided roadway to connect mid and south St. Louis County has its fair share of critics but county officials appear to be undeterred.
Maplewood’s City Council has officially come out against the proposal, and Great Rivers Greenway has expressed expensive concerns.

Voters will decide on Proposition P, a 3/16-cent sales tax. It would raise the tax on a $10 purchase by roughly two cents.

The goal remains to have the highway lid and other improvements done in time for the fiftieth anniversary of the Arch’s completion in the fall of 2015.
