UPDATE: Judges Vote Against Armed Offender Docket Plan

Mayor Francis Slay, Police Chief Sam Dotson, and Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce say that suspects using guns wait too long to see a judge and receive sentences which are too light.

City Officials Reiterate Support for Gun Court

Judge Jack Garvey wants to add court divisions dedicated to armed robberies and cases involving the unlawful use of weapons. Circuit judges are expected to vote September 16.
