House Elections Committee
Missouri’s primary elections move to June from the current first month in August in even-numbered years.
The leader of a Missouri House committee says she’ll reschedule a 6:45 a.m. hearing after opponents of the measure complained.
The proposal would allow the governor to appoint an officeholder until an election could be held. The appointee would be then be barred from running.
Initially they had decided on bumping term limits up to 12 years in each chamber but decided four more would be better.
