All westbound lanes of Interstate 64 between Forest Park Avenue and Kingshighway will shut down at 9 p.m.
Interstate 64 will close beginning Friday night to remove two bridges in Chesterfield.
Crews will be removing a crane that broke free on the Missouri River that is currently resting on the eastbound truss of the Daniel Boone Bridge.
It happened on the shoulder of eastbound I-64 near St Clair Avenue early Saturday morning.
A major road project is slated to begin Monday in the Metro East, if weather conditions allow.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will have several lane closures on I-64 in St. Louis City and on the Poplar Street Bridge that will impact weekend traffic in the area.
Officials say westbound I-64 will be reduced to one lane between 18th Street and 9th Street in East St. Louis Wednesday, weather permitting.

Police arrived at a Chili’s restaurant just before 9:30 last night on N. Illinois St. in Fairview Heights. Witnesses there said three masked men, two armed with guns, entered the restaurant.
The right lane on eastbound 64 at Jefferson will remain as an exit only for Jefferson Avenue until mid-August.
