Customers can begin lining-up at the store on Monday, September 28 – 48 hours in advance of the September 30 opening.
Ikea’s U.S division is raising the minimum wage for the second year in a row as the Swedish ready-to-assemble furniture chain looks to improve its relations with workers and reduce worker turnover.
While some are focused at shopping there, IKEA needs people to work at it’s new St. Louis store as well.
New York retail analyst Burt Flickinger calls IKEA a “transformative magnet.”
IKEA St. Louis will carry 5,000 products and have 50 room sets and three full homes.
It’s now estimated that it will take until early afternoon to allow the tank to completely empty out.
Weather-permitting, IKEA will try again today to hang its 15-foot yellow letters on its big blue building under construction in Midtown.
Installation of the blue panels is a construction milestone that ensures the store will open in fall 2015, according to a news release.
Construction has technically been well underway for several weeks already
