A local Humane Society shelter might have to close their doors because of astronomical heating bills and a harsh winter.
Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville owner Frank Anderson says that because of the tough economy, the shelter has been taking in large numbers of animals.
Police say she was logging payroll hours for former employees, forging the checks and keeping the money.
