Lambert-St. Louis International Airport plans to charge more for parking — $five for the first hour, which is twice what it is now.
Sleet, snow and ice hitting St. Louis has kept more than 138 arriving flights and 128 departing airplanes on the ground today.

The airport said Tuesday that it served more than 12.7 million passengers in 2012.

Lambert officials said Wednesday that an agreement expected to be filed next month with a U.S. Bankruptcy Court allows American to shed $2.3 million a year.
“This is in response to growing demand in the region and specific, direct contact from customers who requested we put those in,” Lambert Spokesman Jeff Lea said.
“First of all, Paul McKee is moving forward with his project,” Mayor Slay said, adding that “Humpty-Dumpty’s not going to fall off the wall.”
