To make room for Jay and Carpenter’s additions to the team’s 25-man roster, the team optioned first baseman Matt Adams and outfielder Adron Chambers to Memphis.

Berkman Out at least for 6-8 Weeks with Knee Injury

The team said Monday that Berkman will have an arthroscopic procedure later this week in Vail, Colo.
