Former Valley Park Mayor Nathan Grellner is due in court this morning to plead guilty to stealing his estranged wife’s identity to obtain a credit card.
When Grellner got cornered in a dead end, officers say he fought and spit on them. They used handcuffs and pepper spray to subdue him.
Nathan Grellner is still awaiting trial on four previous charges of illegally using the Valley Park credit card while mayor and six charges stemming from last year’s arrest.
2012 was a rough year for Grellner who resigned as Valley Park mayor on July 26 after using the city credit card at a strip club.
He now faces four felony counts of fraudulently using a credit card.

“I don’t see true repentance from him until he steps down from office,” was the call.
St. Louis County police paid a visit to City Hall this week, requesting documents relating to Mayor Nathan Grellner’s use of the city’s credit card.
Nathan Grellner attended his first such meeting in six months on Monday, and apologized for his “inappropriate behavior.”
