The homeless shelter in downtown St. Louis could get its hotel license revoked after 160 people signed a petition.
“It takes more than two plots of land for anything to take place,” Dooley said. “You got to build it, you got to staff it. All these things need to be done.”
“We’re making this available to them, all they have to do is agree that they will open the shelter that was promised last August,” Rice said.
“For them to say all the problems in downtown St. Louis are a result of homeless people that stop in and that we help from time to time is absolutely ridiculous”
“We could reach a point, eighteen months from now, where we have in fact ended chronic homelessness in St. Louis.”
The Rev. Larry Rice on Monday submitted a 790-signature petition to the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office to force the ballot measure.
