A Missouri man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old schoolmate when he was 17 was charged Thursday with a misdemeanor child endangerment charge.
Jackson County prosecuting attorney Jean Peters Baker has been tight-lipped about the case since announcing in late October that she had been appointed as special prosecutor.
Nodaway County Sheriff Darren White says the county is placing portable toilets on Maryville’s courthouse square to accommodate whomever shows up for the 6 p.m. rally.
“It’s an extremely long drive to Maryville and I really can’t justify sending one of my prosecutors over there for extended periods of time when we have to try the caseloads here in the city,” she said.
