A 21-year-old woman is in police custody after she allegedly struck and injured an elderly man as he crossed at Natural Bridge and Newstead.
Police say the victim went to a north side neighborhood to look at a car he saw on Craigslist but as he pulled up two men approached him.
Police say the child was running between two cars in north St. Louis around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Twelve properties in eight years, all owned by developer Paul McKee have burned to the ground.
McKee told a Missouri House committee Tuesday that lawsuits have delayed the drawdown of the $95 million program authorized in 2007.
The two victims, both men in their 20s, were found at Hamilton and Ferris around 7 p.m.
It happened about two o’clock his morning on St. Louis’ north side. The driver was westbound on Cass at 20th.
Fire officials on the scene say the house was vacant and a woman was inside building a fire in the center of the house to keep warm.
“The best surveillance system in the world is neighbors looking out for neighbors,” French said.
A high-poverty, high-crime area of St. Louis is getting $4.2 million in federal grant money aimed at helping children.
