A man found in the middle of a north St Louis street-shot in the head-has died from his wound.
The warning reads “éviter le quartier nord entre l’aéroport et le centre-ville, mais la navette reliant l’aéroport est sûre.”
The shooting unfolded just after 7 a.m. Wednesday morning on Northcrest Lane at McLaran Avenue on the city’s north side.
St. Louis police and SWAT teams surrounded a home on the city’s north side Monday for several hours.
Officers returned fire, killing the suspect. He was identified Sunday as Jared Harris of St. Louis County.
“Officers will patrol in uniform, driving marked police vehicle, as well as in an undercover capacity, in unmarked vehicles,” the department announced Tuesday.
In St. Louis, between 10,000 and 15,000 federal workers are being affected by the government shutdown and some plan to protest today.
It happened at a home in the 700 block of Bittner in the Baden neighborhood. Witnesses say shots were fired into the home, hitting a man in his 20s.
Police say the 21-year-old was sitting on a porch in the 5600 block of Highland Avenue when he says someone shot at him and his friends from a nearby alley and he fired back.
Developer Paul McKee was given permission Wednesday from the St. Louis Tax Increment Financing Commission to move ahead with his plans for north St. Louis.
