The St. Louis medical examiner says the 18-year-old fatally shot by police suffered a severed spinal cord, prompting a lawyer for the family to further question the police contention that the suspect ran a short distance after the shooting.
“This is not just about the police shooting a young man,” Moore said. “It’s about life, period. About what’s acceptable and what’s not.”
Later Wednesday, police made nine arrests and used tear gas to clear a street after protesters ignored commands and threw glass bottles and rocks at officers, Dotson said.
