James Brown, 34, faces numerous counts of theft. Police say Brown was apparently targeting the air conditioning units for their expensive copper wiring.
Since the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting, attendance has doubled at academies in the West County and Fenton precincts, a department spokesperson said.
Police spokesman Randy Vaughn says police on Monday arrested two men, ages 47 and 48. Their names have not been released pending formal charges.

Earon A. Rivers, 17, of St. Louis, has been charged with one count of murder in the second degree, two counts of armed criminal action, and one count of robbery in the first degree.
“We’re really taking it as, worst case scenario, there is always the possibility that this could continue until this person is caught,” Vaughn said.
