Koster says his office is asking questions of Schnuck’s officials to learn whether they did everything they are required to do by law in their handling of the security breach.
“For over seven decades, you’ve been able to depend on us. I want you to know you still can,” Scott Schnuck said.
In a tweet shortly after six o’clock Tuesday morning, the mayor pointed out that Schnuck Markets “remains the largest grocer in the city.”
Schnucks says just the card numbers and expiration dates were stolen, not the cardholder’s name, address or anything else.
Even though the supermarket chain has “found and contained” the issue, Montgomery Bank CEO Ken Witbrodt says the threat is not over.
