“It’s turned into a much bigger cleanup than we thought,” County Executive Steve Ehlmann said. “We are anticipating collecting about 50,000 tons of tree and limb debris.”

The National Weather Service says two of the tornadoes were rated EF-3, which means they contained winds measuring 136 to 165 miles per hour.
The National Weather Service says there are multiple spots of potential failures along that levee between Portage Des Sioux and West Alton.
Gov. Nixon’s office said the federal agency has declared natural disasters for counties because of severe storms, high winds and flooding.
The storm Friday night produced two tornadoes, one that began in St. Charles County and traveled 32 miles through parts of St. Louis County.
The strongest was an EF-3 that tore through St. Charles County, Friday night.
