The Senate and House each gave first-round approval Tuesday to their versions of a bill to renew security exemptions that expired at the end of 2012.
Sen. Kurt Schaefer, the bill’s sponsor, says the changes would update and strengthen the so-called Sunshine Law.
The exemptions protecting such information from disclosure expired at the end of 2012.
“Certain confidentiality is afforded to the elected leadership in order that they can conduct business in an appropriate and business like setting.”
Once the lease amendment is be finalized, CVC attorney says everything would be made public.
The judicial panel was given the responsibility of drawing new legislative districts after two bipartisan citizen commissions deadlocked.
Senator Jason Crowell wants to require new districts for the state Legislature to be developed during open meetings.
