Barnes (pictured), Jones, & Rhaney battling for season-opening start
With his team coming off a bad loss last Sunday in Kansas City, and staring down the barrel of a meeting with a rested and angry San Francisco 49er team this coming Sunday, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher made an unusual decision regarding the team’s first practice of the week on Wednesday.
Rams left tackle Jake Long took a significant step forward in his return from the knee injury that ended his 2013 season when he took some reps during the team’s evening practice on Thursday.
Dahl has been out since October with a knee injury, and Long missed the second half of last Sunday’s game with a concussion. Both were able to participate in Thursday evening’s practice at Rams Park.
Veteran center, who signed with the Rams before the 2012 season, after making the Pro Bowl in 2011, is out four-to-six weeks with a broken left fibula.
