A National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee official told the AP that $5 million in advertising would be spent elsewhere.
Akin said in a radio interview that women’s bodies are sometimes able to prevent pregnancies after what he called “a legitimate rape.”
The ad accusing Republican opponents Sarah Steelman and Todd Akin of “manufacturing debt” in their government jobs.
