Week 6: St. Louis Rams At Miami Dolphins
| Sam Bradford is a smart quarterback who understands the game and has all the intangibles that head coach Jeff Fisher wants in his signal caller. However, he is not that gifted in terms of arm strength and is not overly productive. | Quarterback | Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill followed a 400-yard game against the Cardinals in Week Four by leading the Dolphins to a road win against the Bengals. He doesn’t have the strongest supporting cast, but Tannehill is getting better each week. |
|---|---|---|
| The Rams were getting excellent production from quick wide receiver Danny Amendola, but he separated his clavicle and will be out 6-to-7 weeks. The Rams will try to get more out of wideout Chris Givens who had a 51-yard TD catch against Arizona, but he lacks consistency. Running back Steven Jackson gives St. Louis a solid ground game. | Offense | The Dolphins struggle when it comes to talent at the skill positions. Running back Reggie Bush is their most gifted player, but the Dolphins are counting on hard-trying wideouts Brian Hartline and Davone Bess to keep them in the game. Miami has an ordinary offensive line. |
| The Rams had a dominating game against the Cardinals, sacking Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb 9.0 times. Defensive end Robert Quinn was unstoppable in that game, registering 3.0 sacks. Defensive end Chris Long and linebacker James Laurinaitis are probably the most complete defensive players on the team. | Defense | Middle linebacker Karlos Dansby leads the way for the Dolphins on defense. He is a big hitter and he is usually around the ball. Head coach Joe Philbin has to be happy with free safety Reshad Jones since he is coming off a 7-tackle game against the Bengals in which he also had an interception. |
| The Rams completely remade their special teams in the offseason and the moves have paid off in a huge manner. Rookie placekicker Greg Zuerlein will probably the NFL’s next superkicker. He is 13-of-13 on FG attempts this year, including a long of 60 yards. Punter Johnny Hekker averaged 56.9 yards on seven punts against the Cardinals. | Special Teams | The Dolphins are struggling on special teams. Dan Carpenter has made just 6-of-10 FG attempts this year and he has missed at least one attempt in each of the last three games. The Dolphins are just ordinary at punt and kickoff coverage. |
