Are you a pool shark looking for some action or a serious league player? Or are you just looking for a casual place to knock some balls around with a pal or a date? Every neighborhood in the STL has a pool hall or billiard room that will meet your needs. Here are the local favorites.

Creve Coeur, MO 63141

Pink Galleon has everything you want in a billiard hall. There are lots of tables, so there’s never a long wait. Other pub games to play include darts, ping pong and air hockey. When you see the surprising number of tables covered in pink felt, you’ll understand the name of the joint. It’s a typical dive (smoking is still allowed in the bar) but with a twist of flavor and personality. Pink Galleon sometimes hosts live bands at both the Creve Coeur and South County locations.

If you’re looking for pool tables with a club atmosphere in the Ferguson/Florissant area, give Cutetopia a try. The cavernous space offers plenty of pool tables and dart boards. You can get all of your favorite pub foods here, too, but the real attraction is live music, DJs and the dance floor. If you like your pool halls slick and urban, you’ll love Cuetopia.

This relatively new strip-mall establishment in Maplewood has a lot going for it. It’s not your typical smoky dive pool hall. Smoking isn’t allowed in the brightly lit space, however Pints and Rails is a full-service bar. The pub offers drink specials, ladies nights, college nights, karaoke nights and the usual host of bar events, as well as serious pool leagues. It’s a neighborhood tavern that offers tournament pool alongside darts, sporting events and other pastimes.

If you live on the Illinois side, or close enough to cross over easily, you already know that most things are cheaper there. A couple of hours of shooting pool in Alton will only run you about $10 or $15, instead of the $40 you’re likely to spend in STL. Riverbend Billiards also has the advantage of being in Alton, which means you can stop by the legendary Fast Eddie’s for a beer and some cheap grub on your way in or out of town. Riverbend Billiards offers a huge space with lots of pool tables for individual or tournament play, plus a separate room for the bar and grill.
